Dr. Suhaila S. Shariff
Dr. Shariff is an endodontist who has been in private practice for more than ten years. She grew up in Peoria, Illinois and has spent most of her life in the Midwest. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she entered the Harvard school of Dental Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health earning a doctorate in medical dentistry (D.M.D.) and a Masters in Public Health (M.P.H.) in 1998. Her post-graduate education was completed at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she received a Certificate of Endodontics in June 2000. In that same year, Dr. Shariff joined Fox Valley Endodontic Specialists.
In addition to being a Diplomate (i.e. board certified member) of the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Shariff is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, Fox River Valley Dental Society, Elgin Dental Study Club, and Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic Study Club. She attends numerous educational seminars throughout the year to ensure she is providing the highest caliber of endodontic treatment and using the most current techniques and state-of-the-art equipment.
Much of her research during dental school involved studying patterns of dental services utilized by under-priviledged populations. She has served this sector of society in her practice, by donating dental treatment to the local community through Dentists with a Heart, Illinois Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped, The Greater Family Health Care Center of Elgin, Elgin Junior Service Board and Larkin Center.
Dr. Shariff is marrried and has one daughter. She loves spending time with her family and traveling. She looks forward to continuing to serve her patients in the city of Elgin and the surrounding communities for many years to come.
